What is the statue of limitations for a civil complaint? The complaint is about an owner of a service who signed a statement guaranteeing the repair would work until a date about 6 weeks in the future, and it worked for about an hour. He refused to return to try to make a working repair. We had paid him an exorbinant amount to get him out of the house, but were willing to pay him because he signed the statement.

It would seem that your complaint would be based on a contract. If this is so, the statute of limitations is 4 years.
