Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Statute of limitation

I am writing to ask about filing a personal injury civil law suit. I would like to know what the legal time limit in which a lawsuit can be filed, in what case or sercumstance, a plaintiff may file after that time.

Re: Statute of limitation

In Pennsylvania, the basic period is two years from the date of accident, but there's many exceptions and complexities involved, so it's impossible to catalog or describe all the possible results.

We lawyers spend lots of time trying to figure out statute of limitations problems. The only advice I can give online is to consult a lawyer as soon as possible after you become aware of a claim. It's always better to file suit within the basic limitation period, than to have to rely on an exception or extension.
