Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Can I sue the County?

My children were abused, degraded, humiliated and neglected to the extent of being furher abused by another, older chilld in the home, while in foster care. The worst case scenario happened after I was able to have them back, and was supposed to have had them returned, but was put off by the county. When I learned about the abuse, I immediately reported it and saught prosecution, even though nearly 10 years had passed. The case was investigated by the State's Dept. of Family Services, whose final decision was ''unfounded'', even though the woman doing the investigation shared with me that she believed that they were abused. My children have been immeasurably harmed by this abuse, and their potential has been, at least, diminished. I believe that we have been determined to be unimportant, while the foster family has a good standing in the community. I want to sue the county for putting and keeping my children in an abusived home, and the foster family so that they may never harm another child, but mostly so that my children's endless suffering is somehow vindicated. Please advise.

Re: Can I sue the County?

You should contact an attorney local to your County to determine whether or not such a suit is viable. Generally, anyone can sue anybody for anything but there are some hoops that you have to jump through with government immunity and it sounds to me as if there may be additional problems with local politics.
