Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

How do I sue an individual who owes me a large sum of money totaling over $20,000.00? I left a friend borrow $20,000.00 in the return that he would pay me back. It was via a verbal contract. This friend was in credit card debt and needed $20,000.00 to get out of debt because he had been applying to various positions in the FL and VA areas and was denied the position due to his bad credit or that's what he stated. He told me that he was guarrented a job in FL and VA once the debt was payed and then would use money from his retirement plan which he was going to cash out to pay me back the full $20,000 in the meantime while waiting to hear from the FL and VA he was also supposed to pay the loan monthly which never happened either. I took out a home equity loan in the amount of $20,000. I have reciepts that show the money being transferred from my account into his. He is now refusing to pay me back. If it were only 300.00 I wouldn't have cared but $20,000.00 is a lot of money to be in debt from especially when you were trying to be nice in the hopes of the friend paying you back. I need advice on how to get my money back and what type of lawyer do I need to get to pursue my case?
