trip and fall injury

I tripped on--name removed--raised piece of grid around--name removed--tree at--name removed--college campus. received two stitches above my left eye.sprained left wrist. what is the avrage contingent fee for an attorney to take this kind of case. the attorney i spoke to is charging 33 1/3% of any money damages. if it goes to trial 40% of any money damages. is this the normal rate for PA. i looked it up in the dictionary and it says 25 to 33%. i have also talked to--name removed--friend of mine who is--name removed--corporate attorney and he said it was 25% and that the figure of 33 1/3% seemed--name removed--little high. Thank you

The information you have received from the "dictionary" and your friend is wrong. The going rate for contingency cases in PA, including in Western PA, is 33-40%.

Although attorney fees can vary, the typical contingent attorney fee in PA in a personal injury case is between 33.33% and 40%. The other information you obtained is clearly in error. Also, you should be more concerned with the expertise of your attorney. It's no help to you to have an inexperienced attorney charge 25% but obtain a recovery far less than an experienced attorney who charges more.
