Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Unauthorized display of wedding video

We hired a videographer for our wedding. One of the concerns was that our video may be displayed on the website or at wedding shows. Because we did not want this to happen our contract specifically states that our video will not be shown at wedding shows or posted online. We recently found out that the videographer used our video as a center point during one of the shows. Is there anything that can be done legally to prevent this? Also, what law is he breaking and what specialty of law does this cover?

Re: Unauthorized display of wedding video

You could sue him in civil court for breach of contract. The problem would be determining damages.

If could there be criminal liability would depend on if the video was copyrighted and who owns the copyright.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
