Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania
Verbal agreement canceled, refund of money
Made a verbal agreement with a lady to watch my dog for $12.oo a day. Paid $360.oo in cash upfront because I didn't have an exact date for pick up. I received a receipt for $360.00 Very next day I changed my mind on who I wanted to watch my dog, I called the lady and left a message. Several days later she called me to come get the dog. Upon arriving she wanted me to sign a receipt that I relinguish my refund. No where was it stated that there would be no refund if canceled early. She tried to have me sign the release. I didn't and I wanted to know if I have a right to get a refund for all or partial money not used. She had the dog 10 days. I canceled one day after giving her the dog. She took 9 days in getting me the dog.

Re: Verbal agreement canceled, refund of money
Verbal agreements are some times hard to prove or disapprove. I believe she did not earn the money and you are due refund. You could take her to small claims court and try to pursue it that way. You do not need an attorney in small claims court.
If that does not work you could contact an attorney. My firm works on these types of cases on a contingency fee. We would only charge you a fee if we were able to get your money back.
