Wrongly accused of refusing payment
A pizza shop owner called me on Mother's day to tell me that there was an investigation as to why I refused payment for pizzas over the past 8 months. These supposedly were ordered and paid with an ATM card and then a stop-payment was called to the bank.
She said there was an investigation regarding this through her bank and a police report filed.
I spent over 6 hours on the following day (and my husband took 4 hours off from work) visiting my bank, her bank, and the police department, all of whom were not sure of an investigation. There was no police report. I then visited her establishment and was treated very rudely, talked down to, ignorant attitude, and told that I could not get any information regarding this until the investigation was over. She then, later that day, called and said, ''You paid with cash. nothing to worry about.''
I would like to know if I have justification for a suit for personal time lost, work time lost, ruining my holiday with family, and the fact that I was very stressed for 2 days worrying about this.

You may have a cause of action for defamation since she accused you of a crime, assuming she communicated that to a third party, but your damages would be minimal.
