Legal Question in Health Care Law in Pennsylvania
Paying On a Medical Bill
Does a medical bill have to be paid in a certain amount of time? I owe almost $3000 and when I called to set up payment arrangements, I told them that we could only afford $50/mo. They said that it had to be paid in a 2 yr period which would make pymts $114/mo. Legally, do I have to have this paid off in 2 yrs? Or as long as I am making some sort of pymt, do they have to accept that? I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks.

Legally, they can do whatever they want. They could just file suit against you tomorrow for the whole amount, get a judgment, and have the sheriff execute upon you.
