divorce before citizenship interview

Dear lawyers,

i was married to my wife american citizen for almost 4 years. i have a permanent resident card for 3 years now. I have applied for a citizenship. i am worried if there are any limitations because i am divorced now. what should provide for a paperwork? is my divorce going to affect my chances to citizenship. i am divorced for more than 1.5 years. do i still prove my good faith in entering marriage. we do not keep in touch with my wife. thank you in advance.--name removed--

If you are no longer married to a U.S. citizen, you must wait five (5) years as a permanent resident before applying for naturalization. As such, once the Immigration Service finds out that you are no longer married, it will most likely deny your application.
