Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania

My friend was brought here by his mom at age 9 from Jamaica. She made him over stay his visa and stop filling from him. Now he is an illegal 34 and wants to buy a one way plane ticket back to Jamaica. Will he still be detained?

It's not likely that he would be detained when departing unless he has a criminal record. If he does, then DHS may be on the lookout for him and want to institute deportation proceedings against him. You may want your friend to chat with a lawyer.
