Hi,
Upon marriage all sponsorship paperwork can be filed concurrently and you can adjust status in the U.S. without having to depart the U.S. since you initially entered the U.S. legally. Some of the petitions and applications filed with the USCIS include petition for alien relative, adjustment of status, employment authorization application, biographic questionnaire, affidavit of support, etc. Information about family sponsorship categories is here: www.h1b1.com/sponsor.htm

As long as you entered legally, and if youi're boyfriend is a citizen, than upon marriage you can file to adjust your status to a permanent resident. Feel free to contact our office at 215_242_3830 to schedule a free consultation with our immigration attorney, Adam M. DeJohn, Esq.
