Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania
Hi,
Currently I am on F1 visa status and my wife was in F1 status too and we decided that my wife would change her status to F2. We filled out I539 form and requested to change our status from January 16th. She is still registered for classes and not we are in dilemma whether or not to drop those classes. We received receipt from USCIS the very same day. Now, we are wondering if we drop the courses and our approval for change of status will come later, does that make our stay illegal?
Thanks

Hello:
If she does not properly change status, she will be violating the terms of her stay.
