Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania

If a child was brought to the U.S. by his parents when he was 1 years old with a visa and has lived here since then and now is 17 not knowing that the visa had expired and now wanting to renew it or just get his Citizenship what would he have to go about doing?

His situation will not be so simple as applying for citizenship. Much will depend upon his parents status at this time, and it may be that there may not be good options open to him at this time.
