Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania

Question of twice deported illegal alien

My boyfriend is an illegal alien that was deported in 1999 for a domestic despute, he now is currently detained in Pittsburgh,PA because he was pulled over for a minor traffic violation(not being charge with that). I would like to marry him one day but now is not the time unless it will save him from being deported. Will he ever have a chance to become a U.S citizen? What type of process am I looking forward to. I have been with him 6 years and he has been in the country since 1992 prior til his deportation. He has no criminal record other than deportation. Please help!

Re: Question of twice deported illegal alien

Your marriage to your boyfriend will not save him from deportation and he may be barred by up to 10 years from returning to the United States. However,

after he has been deported to his home country, if you are married to him and you can demonstrate that you as a U.S. citizen have incurred extreme hardship as a result of the separation from him, USCIS officials may consequently shorten by a few years the time that he is barred from returning to this country.
