Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania
sueing for fraud marriage
my husband just filed annolment for fraud marriage after two years of our marriage relationship. He really hates me so he is trying to do anything to hurt me so he decided to cancle our marriage relationship so that he thinks he can deport me from America. I just received my permanent green card, and he is now saying that I married him purposely to get a greencard. however, when I was married to him, he was only a greencard holfer, and he received his US citizenship after 1 year and half we got married.
so he decided to sued me for fraud marriage. anyway he agreed to settle down the case by devorcing me, and I was wondering since he sued me for annolment, and the reason was that is because it was a fraud. will there be a problem to me to keep my greencard? and will there be a problem to me to apply for the US citizens? and I have to replace the card to change my last name. what can I do? what is my option to solve this situation.?
P.S- we lived together for 2 years. we had house, cars, bank, credit cards, and we also had big wedding in America. I just can not understnad why he is trying to do this to me?
what can I do??

Re: sueing for fraud marriage
Hi,
I am sorry to hear about the problems in your relationship, but these things happen. The most importnat thing is for you to protect yourself.
Your husband can certainly write to the immigration, request to whidraw the case and do all sorts of things. Whether that will change your situation it is hard to predict.
The best things to do is for you to file for a FOIA request and get your file from the Ins this way you can see if he sent something to them that can harm you. Once you do that just wait and see how things develp.
