Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania

My daughters fiance was just killed in an accident. Thay have 2 small children together. His employer had company paid life insurance, but no one seems to have the beneficiary paperwork to show who he designated to receive the money. We know it was to be my daughter, as he had called her from work while filling out his paperwork to discuss it with her. what do we do if they do not find the paper?

See a lawyer immediately. It is impossible to have a life insurance policy without a beneficary. If the beneficiary were to die before the insured, the insurance proceeds would go into your daughter's fiance's estate, and then would go to his next of kin as established by the PA Intestacy law. This would include his 2 children. The money would also may be subject to inheritance tax if it goes through the Estate. You need a lawyer to go after that insurance company or the employer, to get these documents ASAP.
