Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania

What is liability

I was in a car accident. I was not at fault. The other partys insurance said they would claim liability since I was hurt and taken to the hospital. What does this mean? Does it mean they will only pay my medical or do they pay for pain and suffering, too? Please help

Re: What is liability

In Pa. your own ins. co. pays your own medical bills, up to the limit of medical bill coverage, no matter who is at fault. The ins. co. can't do anything bad, like raise rates or refuse to renew, if it pays medical bills. If your medical bills are in excess of your coverage, then that becomes part of the claim against the other driver's ins co. In addition to medical bills, or other "economis loss" which may not be paid by your ins co, your claim against the other driver's ins co is to compensate for your "pain & suffering". This is a brief description of the nature of your claim. Please contact me or another experienced personal injury lawyer if you need more assitance.
