I was involved in an auto accident with a Municipal Waste Truck . After speaking with my insurance agency I was told that they have municipal immunity. WHat does it mean and what can I do about it?

Re: Municipal immunity
1st, if you an injury claim, the medical bills need to be of at least $500, & your injury must be a "permanent loss of a bodily function." This means you need to suffer a rather serious injury. 2d, for any claim for the damage to your vehicle, the municipality will only pay for any damage which is not paid by your own ins co. Hope the above helps. Please contact me if you need any other info.
