Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania
Oops
I was in an accident involving myself and another vehicle. I was driving my boyfriend's father's vehicle, and I am not listed per say on their insurance. Insurance covers who ever drives the vehicle, but I am not actually listed (my name etc...) After the insurance companies talked it out, I was told that since I LIVE AT HOME with my mother (who has insurance for HER vehicle, that covers who ever drives HER vehicle), they say that I have insurance. Is this fair??? I wasn't even driving HER car, I was driving HIS car, and they want MY MOTHER TO PAY FOR THEIR CAR?? CONFUSED HELLO!?

Re: Oops
The ins co for the car you were driving insured you as long as you were driving with the permission of the owner. Your mom's ins co insures you because you are a resident in her house. The question is priority of coverage. The ins co for the car you were driving should be primary under PA law, & your mom's ins is secondary. However, you should report this to your mom's ins co & let the 2 ins co fight about it. Good luck!
