Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania

PA Auto no-fault insurance

My son hit a patch of ice on the road and paniced. The cars brakes locked up and he hit a tree. There was another young man in the car with him. This young man broke his ankle. This young man doesn't have auto insurance or a drivers licence. He's 18 but still lives with his mother. (he's still in school.) Who's Auto insurance would have to pay for the medical bills? My Auto or his mothers.

Re: PA Auto no-fault insurance

In PA, medical bills are paid by your own auto ins co under what is sometimes referred to as "no fault'" So his mother's ins co will pay his medical bills, up to the limits of coverage. In PA the minimum medical bill coverage is $5,000, but his mother may have purchased more coverage. Also, keep in mind that the ins co is not permitted to raise rates or refuse to renew just because it pays medical bills. Hope the above helps.
