Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Pennsylvania

Computer Training Material

Do you need permission to create and sell computer training material that include things like screen recordings and screen shots?

Also the process and description of software and how to use it, is this coved under fair use.

I don't believe creating this type of training material would hurt software sales, in fact it would help. But

most software compaines also sell training material and this would hurt those sales.

Re: Computer Training Material

No, you would not need permission. And I would suggest not asking. If you ask, there is an implication that you think such permission is needed when it is not. Do not, however, include any person's identifiable personal information in your training materials, except the author's or owner's information.

Let me know if I can be of assistance.
