Use of quotations on custom made apparel

Is it legal to use quotations with an attributable source on embroidered custom made apparel/gifts and in advertising such items online or in print?

Well it depends. If the quote is from a famous personage in history (JFK or Lincoln) you would not have a problem.

However, if you quote lyrics, poetry or other intellectual property not in the public domain, you might be in trouble.
