Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Acquisition

I am with my current company for 13 months. They have just been acquired by my previous employer who I was with for 33 years. Do I get credit and my time back for the years I spent with my previous employer. What is the law here. Thanks.

Re: Acquisition

You asked about your new employer being acquired by your previous employer.

If you are represented by a union or other collective bargaining agreement then you would be subject to that agreement.

If you are not so covered then you are subject only to the policies of your current employer.

Most likely you will be subject to the time spent with only the new employer. There really isn't any law that is going to benefit you. As long as the employer does not discriminate against a person for an unlawful reason then they may terminate an employee at will.

Regards,

Roger
