Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
Hello
I am in need of a answer to a questions. I work for a local employer who sent me on a trip with a company van to one of our dealers in Springfield Mass. last Thursday. The whole trip was screwed up from the start we did not have any directions as how to get their. We were told just start driving towards NY on 84 East and we will call you with directions. I work in the mobility division of this company the problem was with a bed, that are company also makes. I know nothing about beds but they wanted me to go because i was the only one with a valid license.I was stopped on interstate 84 east, i never drove this highway before. I know their are parts of the highway that state 55 MPH and other state 65 MPH .We were pulled over at 8:35 am in the left lane with a car in from of us and two on the right side ALL going the same speed limit. Since i was the only one from PA i think i was singled out. Maybe i should have just received a warning .
But my question is is my employer responsible for the cost of this ticket ? Since i was on a company trip with a company van doing company business.
They will NOT agee to pay this ticket, and i refuse to go on any future trips.
Can you please advise me of any laws that cover this topic. Their is NO written documents stating the company will not take care of any tickets while someone was using a company cars.It is NOT in any company hand book, or anyone was never informed that the policy we do not pay tickets. I am not the only one that drives this van.
Please Advise
Thank you

You, as the operator, are liable for the ticket.
