Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Bonus Opportunity

I have been working at my company for three years. I have in an offer letter a specified bonus opportunity that I was offered. Now they want to lower that percentage not based upon any performance issues. Is the offer letter signed by the former president of the company worth the paper its written on?

Re: Bonus Opportunity

Yes. If it is not an express contract, it is evidence of an implied contract. You were smart to get something in writing. You will need counsel, so line one up and talk about the Restatement of Contracts, 2d.

Good Luck.
