On call laws
My wife was told at work that on-call is manditory on weekends.However,when she was hired there was no on-call.She also has a second job on the weekend she fears firing.What is the law.We live in Pa and I could not find the law on the internet. Thank You

You asked about mandatory on-call employment during the weekend.
It depends. Some jobs expect that on-call exists. An employer can demand pretty much anything as long as they are willing to pay for it. But Pennsylvania is an at-will employment state so an employer is free to demand quite a lot within reason.
The employer cannot require that a person be available to them each and every weekend without paying for it. If the person needs to be on-call and able to respond then either the employer either must compensate for that availability or make accommodation for the life of the employee.
This won't be an easy fight and it is impossible to give even a partial answer without more facts about the situation. Hope this little bit helps. You should probably speak with an attorney who you can make more familiar with the situation.
