Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
Do i have a case?
I was recently firedi didnt know until a month later what i did.I did recieved a phone call then a letter saying i was fired .I work a week and nobody never address what i did. I was fired because i went to work when i was'nt schedule. I was taken off the schdeule. When i tried to address the policy they didnt want to hear about it until a week later so i deciced to go to work to fight for my rights.I was removed instead of 2 other co- workers who had less in service time as policy stated the person who had longer time stayed on which was me. I feel i was being discriminated and i shouldnt been fired for believing in a policy that stated i shouldnt been removed off the schedule.i went to work .Not with the intent to violate any policies but to fight for my rights the only way i knew how. Do i have a case?

Pa has some of the most employer friendly laws in the country. Unless you have a written contract or are a member of a union, you are probably out of luck. Absent a contract or union agreement you are an at-will employee. You can quit at any time and you can be fired at any time. You may claim discrimination in only limited circumstances: race, religion, disability, national origin etc. If one of the criteria is not involved, the employer can basically fire you for no reason as you are an at-will employee.
