Definition of salary

i am looking for the definition of a weekly salary. i beleive salary cannot be changed because of a missed day as long as 40 hours are reached. in my case my employer has been inconsistant.

You are correct. Generally, an exempt employee (that is, exempt from overtime requirements due, for example, to being an administrative or executive employee) must, among other things, be paid a salary, which salary cannot be reduced for missing a day here or there.
