Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
Employment Contract
I work for a Mortgage company and signed a contract that I'm not permitted to work for a competitor. I worked here 3 years ago and left after two years. The contract states a year after i leave i can't work for a competitor it has been a year however i returned to work for this company again and signed a new contract i got an offer to work for a competitor. Can i break this contract since it's been within 30days? There is nothing on the contract about getting out of it under 30days but i figured since it was within my probations i won't be legally liable.

Re: Employment Contract
Although non competition agreements are generally enforceable, they are not favored by the law. Whether the agreement you signed would be enforceable deppends on a number of different circumstances and cannot be answered based on the information you supplied. You should have a lawyer familiar with employment law review the contract. First, however, you may want to ask your current employer if they would permit you toi take the other job in spite of the contract.
