Exempt versus non-exempt overtime
Recently laid off. The company I worked for pretended that I was an exempt employee and I worked literally 4,000 or more hours overtime over the past 11 years. The company officially established exempt and non-exempt employee status at the beginning of this year (2008). Do I have any claim to the hours I was not paid for? I was being paid $50,000 to $62,500 a year over the eleven year period.
