Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
fair pay
If my schedule is 9:30 to 5:30 and one day I need to work 9:00 to 5:00 is my employer still required to pay me?

Re: fair pay
You asked about hours.
Your employer must pay you for any hours you are at work. But an employer does not have to allow you to work any hours that you choose. In other words, in your scenario your employer can say either come in at 9:30 or don't come in. Or you must regularly work until 5:30. They must allow you to use built up sick time or FMLA leave as per their policy. If there is no policy then you may only be able to use sick time or FMLA on a day basis (you either work the whole day or take the day off). FMLA leave is of course without pay and is only applicable after all sick leave has been taken.
