Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
fired because of misdemeanor
I plead guilty to a misdemeanor. However, I talked to my boss about it and they told me to fight it. I told them it was better to take the plea bargain. They told me that I had to leave the job. Is that okay?

Re: fired because of misdemeanor
You may have a lawsuit. Employers are not allowed to fire you because of your criminal record unless it relates directly to the performance of your duties. This is a very protective Pennsylvania law. You should call our offices to discuss.
