Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

my husband has exhausted his fml and has recently severed his achilles tendon in an accident. he is in a cast on his foot, and needs at least 3 months longer for therapy. He was not injured at work, and his company does not have short or long term disability. They make no concessions for employees who sustain injuries when not injured on the job. is there any type of extensions the law allows when presented with this problem.

Ouch. Severing your achilles is a terrible injury to go through. How was he injured? Just because he was injured at work does not mean that he does not have a claim. Depending on even where he was injured, there may be an applicable policy that will help pay for his medical bills or damages. On the workers comp side, it's likely that he does not have a WC claim, but depending on the accident he very well may be able to obtain coverage through another policy.
