Interview process

In any given hiring situation, must all candidates go through an identical hiring process? What if they do not, but a hire is made? Is this illegal practice?

Private employers do not need to have an identical hiring process for all applicants for a position. The caveat is that there must be no illegally discriminatory intent or result from the process.
