Re: loss prevention investigation

You asked about investigation into a loss prevention matter.

Once an employee leaves an employer they are no longer under any requirement to participate in an investigation. While employed an employee may be required to participate in an investigation (can't actually be compelled to answer, but can be fired for refusing to answer).

If you decide to remain and are interviewed, be aware that you are entitled to have a witness of your choice present during that interview (a lawyer or another employee). You are entitled to request any employee be present but that party may not speak or interfere as they are just their to observe.

Regards,

roger
