Mandatory Retirement Age
What, if any, is the mandatory retirement age in the State of Pennsylvania? The employee is currently 69 years of age, works in a secretarial capacity and has been with the company approximately 20 years.
Thank you.

Re: Mandatory Retirement Age
Bot pennsylvania and federal laws prohibit terminating an employee on the basis of age. Therfore, mandatory retirement dates are not legal except in very limited circumstances where age can be considered a bon fide occupational qualification.
