Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

minimum wage

My wife was recently fired for asking that her boss (the owner) pay her atleast minimum wage for the time she was there. She is a massage therapist and gets paid per massage. He required her to be at the salon a minimum of 20 hours a week no matter if she had a massage or not. Most of the time she would bring home checks $100 or more below min. wage. She even asked that she just come up when she has a massage but he insisted that she be there the whole time. He did take taxes out of her check so she was an employee. I am waiting to hear back from the DOL but was wondering what our next step should be. Does she have a claim against him for her losses and to also help the remaining girls at the salon from being taken advantage of?

Thank you advance for any help you may give.
