Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
Pay withholding
In the state of PA, is it legal for a company to withhold the pay of an employee who voluntarily leaves the company? The pay is being withheld because the company paid for the employee's certification course of 4000 dollars. Employee signed contract to repay the company if the employee leaves within 2 years after receiving certification.

Re: Pay withholding
That depends, I would need some more facts, but it really sounds as if you have a cause of action under the Wage Payment and Collection Law. Call our offices as soon as possible so that we can determine whether you have a case. If so, we can probably take it on a contingent fee basis.
