Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

My paycheck

I just quit working for my employer today and its payday. My employer kept my check. I also rent a house from him. I have a room mate whom I split the rent with and he got behind but I am up to date. Can my employer legally keep my check without my consent to cover my room mates part of the rent.
