Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Problem with HR person

I feel that I am being treated unfairly by my company's HR person. She has been with the company for a long time, myself only 15 months. She treats almost everyone (especially us lower paid employees) with litte or NO respect at all. I feel she

intimidates almost everyone there with the exception of ''upper'' management. I was speaking at a meeting with several employees present. 4 of us spoke up and voiced our concern over the way we get treated by her. We were told she would not retaliate. Well, that wasnt the case. I was the only employee that had anything said to about speaking about her at this meeting. When I tried to get management to hear my concerns no one would return my call or set up a meeting with me. One major problem is she wouldn't have known what was said if another ''management team member'' had not told her what had just taken place. He felt he had every right to tell her. Everyone there knows how she is and most are afraid for their jobs so they won't speak up. Is there anything or anyway I can get upper management to take care of this problem? Who can help when it's the HR person you are having a problem with? thanks

Re: Problem with HR person

Unfortunately, the law does not require that an employer treat employees with "respect". In most cases upper management will side with a supervisor over complaints from a subordinate employee. If you want to keep your job you probably shoould accept that the HR person will not treat you the way you want and try to live with it. Your only other option is to seek other employment.
