Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

I recently quit Terminix and they are stating that i have a contract that was included with my application that states i can not work for another pest or termite companie for a period of one year in the US. Is this legal? i was never told what was being signed.just what had to be signed for working there.

A covenant to not compete must be reasonable in scope to be enforced. A one year restriction in the entire United States does not appear reasonable. Best advice contact an attorney to review your situation.
