Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Retail Commission Sales

I work for a large furniture retailer. The sales staff take customers, in turn, off the door. This is how we make our living. Recently, our employer began requiring that the sales staff have 3 confirmed appointments each Wednesday for our weekly unadvertised sale events. If we do not have 3 confirmed appointments that Wednesday, we are not allowed to take customers off the door until the requirement is met. Since we make our living ''off the door'', can they take away door turns from the sales staff if they don't have the 3 confirmed appoinments?

Re: Retail Commission Sales

You asked if an employer can revise a policies.

Yes. As long as there is no unlawful discrimination an employer is able to modify policies as it sees fit to conduct its business.
