Slander
Am I am to sue my current employer for slander for a new employment opportunity that I did not receive, because of it?

There is insufficient information in your query to give a proper response. Slander is a time senitive matter. A one year statute of limitation from the slanderous utterance. You may have to prove damages. you need to supply additional information
