Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
I have stood by my company for almost 10 years now even though, there have been times I was not treated fairly. But, this is the last straw. Last week, I was working with a helper. ( I'm the boss, he assists) He refused to finish the work we needed to do before break was taken. He cursed at me, flipped me off and took break anyway. I finished what needed done and then went out for break. He yelled again at me saying I couldn't tell him what to do. I told him that in fact, yes, I could. He threatened me. I stated I was not scared and it didn't change the fact that he had to listen or go home. He hit me in the face. I did not fight back. When he hit me, my tooth went through my cheek so I needed stitches. I called my boss and told him, he said the guy was fired and go to hospital/ cops etc.. Next day, guy isn't fired just suspended and so was I. Plus, I need anger management classes, manager classes, no Christmas bonus, no holiday pay etc... The guy has been there only 6 mos and this is the second time he refused to work. But, this time, he hit someone...me! I don't know why I have stayed with this company, they always have done me wrong. I don't want to sue for money. I just want someone to help and have my back since I was the one that got the short end of the stick. What can I do? I am trying to locate the proper lawyer or organization to help. Where do I start? I have been lied to by my employer so many times before. Payroll mistakes- still paying back their mistake with 1/2 my pay each pay check. I have been picked on just like everyone else. Is there anything I can do so that this stuff does not happen to someone else? Please help!!
