Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Terminated while off on Medical Leave

I became ill in late February of 09, I went to the doctor immediately and was given a note to stay off work until mid April 09. I notified my employer and they sent me FMLA forms and short term disability forms to fill out. I completeted these forms and sent them back within a few days. A few more days passed and I got a letter stating I was approved for Short Term Disability and I got my first check, I was approved for Short Term Disability until the day my Dr. said I could work again. A week later I recieved a letter from my employer stating I did not qualify for FMLA and was terminated immediately. I did only have 7 months in at the company and they are a very large company. I know PA is a ''free hire, free fire'' State. But is there something I can do? As soon as I was cleared I was eager to go back and my local supervisor and regional manager wanted me back, when I was healthy and they were mad when they hear what corporate office had done. Is there anything I can do?
