Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
I was told I was let go due to lack of work from my job, 4 weeks ago, so i filed for unemployment and was eligible, now i get an e-mail from my ex employer saying that she called UC and told them that I was fired not laid off, that she didn't tell me the truth at the time, so now she is telling me i was really fired and wants me to call UC and tell them that, because they told her it was fraud for her to lie to me. i'm wondering what i should do and if I have a case against her.

Its amazing how often I find myself thinking, "And I thought I had heard everything." You certainly should not call UC and tell them anything of the sort. What is relevant is what you were told at the time.
You do not have a case against your employer just because she lied to you. No law requires your employer to tell you the truth. But, if the lie was used to cover up an illegal motive for firing you, such as a discriminatory reaqson based on your sex, age, race, ethnic origing, disability, etc., then you might have a case against her. If you thik you were the victim of discrimination, you should contact a discrimination lawyer.
It does not make sense to me that an employer would lie to cover up an illegal motive and then turn around and tell the employee they were lying. Then again, it does not make sense that an employer would lie for any reason and then turn around and admit it later.
