Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Unemployment

I got a notice of a Hearing for my unemployment stating that my old employer is appealing so i can't get unemployment. They first time I filed my claim for unemployment i got a letter stating they found no misconduct. The reason they let me go is she that she lied to the District manager Saying I was cursing at her. and i did refuse to sign the write up that I got from the day before. The reason I did not sign that was because It was my day off and I just came in to get my pay check and also I feel I didn't do anything wrong. She cursed me and my aunt who also worked there witnessed the whole thing. So my question is should I get a lawyer for the unemployment hearing. And also What can I do to get justice for being wrongfully terminated.

Re: Unemployment

A lawyer can be very helpful, make sure you receive a written fee letter detailing the charges to be paid. PA is an at will employment state so you may not have an action for wrongful discharge. However, if your boss lied about you and that caused you to lose your job you may have a defamation action against the boss.
