Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania
working for a family relative of my soon to be husband, with the understanding we would receive payment for our work when the business was sold. I worked for a year and a half,the business sold and did not receive any payment for our time is there any legal action I can do about it

That being said, I would suggest speaking to a lawyer regarding this matter. Even though you were working for a family member you still have the right to be paid. Pennsylvania has a law called the Wage Payment and Collection Law which was enacted to provide a remedy for employees that are not paid wages. This law also provides for the possibility of attorneys� fees and a 25% increase on what you are owed if you are successful with you case. The department of labor can also provide assistance with this matter if you would prefer to take that route instead of speaking with an attorney.
