Unless you are under a union bargaining agreement or have a specific employment contract with your employer, your employer can terminate someone for any reason they want to.

One execption to this rule is if your employer violates public policy doing so. Some of the public policy reasons are basing a decision based upon someone's sex, color, creed, religion, age, sex, marital status, pregnancy status, etc. Another public policy protection in PA is the right of a person to file for worker's compensation. If an employer terminates an employee because they have filed for or received worker's comp., it is against the law. However, you have to *prove* that the termination was because of the worker's comp, not something else. If you can then you could file suit against your former employer.

On a side note, you could have an action against the person who wrongfully accused you of stealing as a slander or libel (defamation) action.
